Escape the heat and paint with a twist

Well folks, we are in the midst of a massive heat wave. If you’re tired of sweating your heiney off outside in these record-breaking temps, you may want to cool down indoors with a canvas and paintbrush (and maybe a beverage too).

The latest craze in organized painting is Painting with a Twist – known as FUN art, not fine art. Participants paint along with a talented local artist to create a work of art they can take home at the end of the session (paint supplies are provided). No art experience is necessary – just be ready to have a “twisted” good time!

A few events are happening on Wednesday, August 17 at the Lewes site located at 17723 Coastal Highway. Participate in a relaxing afternoon session of ‘Coffee and Canvas’ featuring Japanese Blossoms ($30/seat). If you have the kiddos with you, there will be an all ages class (ages 7+) featuring At the Lake with Monet for $25/seat. Both classes begin promptly at 1 p.m.

If you prefer to partake in an adult beverage while conjuring up your inner artist, join the evening class featuring Abigail’s Blossom Tree at 7 p.m. $40 gets you a spot at the easel complete with complimentary wine, beer or soda. (Alcoholic beverages are not offered during the day classes.)

Painting with a Twist has a full schedule of classes all year featuring different paintings and offers private pARTies as well. Visit the website to learn more or call 302-703-9700.
