Dubbed "Delaware's Coolest Marathon" the Coastal Delaware Running Festival is a two-day multi-race extravaganza. The event, which benefits the Delaware Seashore Preservation Foundation and Delaware Seashore State Parks, takes place May 2-3 and includes a marathon, half marathon, and 9K, as well as pre- and post-race activities.
This brand new running festival is expected to have over 3,000 participants and an estimated 5,000 attendees from all over the globe. According to race directors, the marathon alone can accommodate up to 2,000 runners. Running enthusiasts won't want to miss what is guaranteed to be a legendary event. Be a part of history. If you haven't registered yet, there are still spots available. If you're not a runner, be a part of the experience as a race volunteer or cheering spectator.
Packet pick-up, race registration, and pre-race activities will be held on Saturday, May 2 from 3:00–9:00 p.m. at the BayCenter-Lighthouse Cove in Dewey Beach. Pre-race activities include an Expo from 3:00–9:00 p.m. and an Italian buffet dinner at the Lighthouse Cove Restaurant from 5:00–9:00 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are available online.
The Expo will offer an extensive selection of merchandise including equipment, apparel, footwear, and accessories, as well as official Coastal Delaware Running Festival gear. Event sponsors and charitable beneficiaries will also be there. The Expo is free and open to everyone so come in and load up on your race swag before the big day.
All races will be held on Sunday, May 3 and will begin at Tower Road in Dewey Beach and finish at the Hyatt-Lighthouse Cove in Dewey Beach. All courses are scenic, flat and fast – perfect for hitting your personal best while taking in beautiful, coastal scenery. Multiple hydration stations will be located throughout each course. Parking opens at 5:30 a.m. and the first race starts at 7:00 a.m.

- The 26.2-mile marathon is a Boston Marathon Qualifying Run. Travel through Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Gordons Pond Wild Life Area, Cape Henlopen State Park, the Junction & Breakwater Trail, and residential sections of Lewes, Rehoboth and Dewey.
- The 13.1-mile half marathon takes you through Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Gordons Pond Wild Life Area, and residential areas of Rehoboth and Dewey.
- The 9K meanders through Dewey Beach, along Silver Lake, and through residential areas of Rehoboth and Dewey.
Cross the finish line and celebrate! The Finish Line Grand Celebration beach party will be held at the Hyatt-Lighthouse Cove from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Your race bib is your entry ticket to enjoy music, food and beer. Wristbands will be provided for drinkers age 21+. Guests are welcome for $20 (limited number of tickets available). Kids under 12 and volunteers are free.
Race volunteers are needed to help with water stops and packet pick-up. All volunteers receive a Coastal Delaware Running Festival shirt and are invited to a Volunteer & VIP Welcome Reception on Friday, May 1, and the post-race beach party on Sunday, May 3.
