Independence Day is a spectacular star-spangled occasion in Rehoboth Beach

Break out the red, white and blue, baby, because it’s here - the ‘big daddy’ of summer holidays - Independence Day! When it comes to this spectacular star-spangled occasion, Rehoboth Beach is no slouch and we guarantee you will have a most memorable experience. Here is the skinny regarding the holiday happenings taking place in town on the big night!

On Sunday, July 3 at approximately 9:15 p.m., an outstanding fireworks extravaganza, hosted by Rehoboth Beach Main Street (RBMS), will be launched from the beach. This dazzling display will be visible up and down the boardwalk and shoreline so bring a blanket or beach towel and hunker down on the beach (be sure to get there a little early to ensure a great spot). Catch a live concert with The Funsters, who will perform at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand before and after the fireworks. For easy transportation in and out of town, the Jolly Trolley and DART buses will run from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.

The Annual Main Street Fireworks Display is funded entirely through donations from Rehoboth Beach visitors, citizens and area businesses. To be a part of this magnificent community event please visit the RBMS website to donate and help make this year’s show the biggest ever.

The rain date is Monday, July 4. The decision to reschedule will be made late Sunday afternoon and updated information will be posted on the RBMS website.

Celebrate America on Independence Day, Monday, July 4 with a free concert at 8 p.m. featuring the U.S. Navy Concert Band. The band will perform a wide array of marches, patriotic selections, orchestral transcriptions, and modern wind ensemble repertoire. Show your support of the stars and stripes as the band pays a musical tribute honoring our great nation.

Have a safe and enjoyable holiday!
