Twice a year, in the spring and fall, downtown Rehoboth Beach holds its world famous (well, locally famous) sidewalk sales. The stores clear inventory for the next season, and reduce prices to ridiculous levels.
Thanks to that nasty nor’easter on the originally scheduled weekend earlier in the month, the town-wide shopping extravaganza will be held this weekend, Saturday October 31 and Sunday, November 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. each day (store hours may vary). What a great excuse to treat yourself to some “holiday shopping” (well, it IS Halloween weekend after all). Hey, maybe you'll find a really great discount on that perfect costume for the evening’s shenanigans!
And speaking of shopping…
Mark your calendars for the 5th Annual Cocoa Crawl on Friday, November 6. Downtown Rehoboth encourages you to “wine, dine and shop local” from 5:00–8:00 p.m. Enjoy great deals, delectable drinks, tasty treats, and art by our incredibly talented local Delaware artisans.
The event was created to help boost downtown activity in the off-season. Rehoboth Main Street pairs restaurants with stores, giving shoppers an opportunity to sample local fare while perusing the shops. Food offerings range from apps to sweet treats to signature beverages. It's an enjoyable and delicious way to meander around town. Some stores offer discounts, so not only are you supporting local businesses, but you’re supporting your wallet as well. Seriously, who doesn’t love that?
After you’ve shopped ‘til you drop and eaten ‘til you burst, wrap up the evening with live music by Paul Cullen at the First Street Station.
The $10 admission enters you into a drawing for a $1,000 VIP basket. The drawing will be held at 8:15 p.m. and you must be present to win. Visit www.downtownrb.com for more information or to purchase tickets. All proceeds benefit Rehoboth Beach Main Street.
