Slam Dunk to the Beach is a national high school basketball showcase featuring the top programs and players from around the country including the nation’s top recruits. This exciting three-day tournament will be held from Sunday, December 27 through Tuesday, December 29 at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes.
Nineteen teams representing seven states and the District of Columbia will participate. Six of Delaware’s top high school basketball teams will be featured, including event host Cape Henlopen High School. Delaware teams will play in half of the event's 18 games, with three games matching in-state opponents. The tournament, which attracted well over 10,000 visitors last year, will be covered by ESPN. Fans from across the country are once again expected to travel to the area to watch these elite teams take to the court for what is guaranteed to be an exceptional face off of remarkable local and national talent.
The iconic event returned in 2014 after an 11-year hiatus. During its tenure, this prolific high school sporting competition has hosted some of the nation’s premier players who went on to be NBA superstars, including LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony.
