The Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival, “The Greatest Jazz Festival in the World,” will take place from Thursday, October 13 to Sunday, October 16. For four extraordinary days music lovers will relish in the smooth sounds of cool jazz as it fills the air. It’s no wonder that visitors come from near and far to see some of the best local, national and international jazz acts around.
The festival, now in its 27th year, has gained both regional and national acclaim. What began in 1990 as a concert featuring local acts at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand it has grown to include outstanding professional acts, such as this year’s Artist of the Year, Grammy Award Winner Patti Austin. This musical extravaganza is a most magical melodious experience that will appeal to all music enthusiasts of all genres.
Larger concert venues include Rehoboth Beach Elementary School, Cape Henlopen High School, Epworth Church, and The Bay Center and Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach. For those who prefer a more intimate setting many local restaurants and bars in Rehoboth Beach and Lewes will also offer great entertainment.
