The Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddler's Festival is a three-day Halloween spook-tacular that is a virtual witch’s brew of wicked family fun. The event, now in its 27th year, takes place Friday, October 28 – Sunday, October 30 throughout Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach. There are more doings and deeds going on than we can list but holiday highlights include broom tossing, parades, trick-or-treating, hayrides, pony rides, live music, games, and food.
Frightful Friday fun includes a tyke bike on the boardwalk, movies at the Sussex Family YMCA, and trick or treating and haunted bonfire in Dewey Beach. Saturday’s schedule is swamped with a long list of super fun things to do, but make sure those kiddos are in costume for the big parade at 11 a.m. (Please note that Rehoboth Avenue will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the parade.) Also on Saturday, the foot-stompin’ Fiddlers’ Festival will be held at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will definitely be “finger-pickin’ good!”
Wrapping things up on Sunday are the Sea Witch 5k Classic Run and One Mile Fright Walk at 9 a.m. at Grove Park and the First State Webfooters 5k or 10k walk beginning at 8 a.m. at The Henlopen Hotel. This walk is family-oriented and non-competitive, so feel free to stroll at a leisurely pace suitable for all ages. And new this year is a 25k bike on the Junction and Breakwater Trail.
Be sure to check out the event program for a comprehensive list of all of the weekend's spine-chilling and hair-raising activities and events.
